Davenport, IA (October 11, 2009) – Hill & Valley Bakery, the nation’s leading manufacturer of sugar-free and no-sugar-added baked goods and desserts welcomed its national sales promotion home this past weekend at the Davenport (IA) StepOut Walk to Fight Diabetes. Hill & Valley employees, friends and families gathered together to turn out over 350 strong in temperatures in the high 20’s/low 30’s.

“It was cold, but well worth it,” said Hill & Valley CEO, Scott Florence. “There are an estimated 35,000 diabetics in the Quad Cities and we feel there should be thousands of people down here raising awareness and money to support the fight against diabetes.”

Hill & Valley supported the walk with ten teams and on-site food and volunteers to help coordinate the event. H&V products carrying the StepOut sponsorship logo – from sliced creme cakes to cookies to mini-muffins and more, were available for sampling along with fresh fruit, juice, water and hot cocoa.

The hot cocoa seemed to be especially popular.
