(October 3, 2009) Here are pictures of the StepOut Walk to Fight Diabetes event in Philadelphia, PA including a “behind the scenes” look at set up the day before and morning of the event.
- The day before the event, the H&V team arrived at the location for the StepOut Walk and surveyed the park in front of the Philadelphia Art Museum.
- Hill & Valley’s Director of Marketing, Amy Behning, meets with the ADA StepOut Walk Event Coordinator to make sure the H&V team knows where to set up their tent.
- The H&V StepOut Cookie Van was on-site and ready to roll at the Philadelphia StepOut Walk.
- Hill & Valley’s Director of Marketing, Amy Behning, took charge early in the morning (4:45 am) to make sure the H&V tent was set up and ready to go when the first walkers arrived.
- Hill & Valley’s Christine Sheumaker was up bright and early (4:00 am) in order to arrive at the walk site and help set up the H&V tent.
- Hill & Valley’s Regional Sales Manager for the Eastern US, Richard Kendall, helped carry food for walkers from the delivery vehicle to the ADA’s food tent early in the morning (5:30 am).
- Hill & Valley’s Silvia Gomez and Christine Sheumaker pitched in and helped get the ADA’s food serving tent ready to go once the H&V tent was set up and fully stocked with goodies.
- Hill & Valley’s tent at the StepOut Walk was easy to spot (both because of the color and the smell of free cookies and muffins)
- H&V’s StepOut Cookie van arrived at the Philadelphia Art Museum the morning of the StepOut Walk.
- As the crowd started to gather (at 8 am on a Saturday), the Hill & Valley tent served as a major gathering spot.

- There were over 3,000 people at the Philadelphia StepOut Walk in 2009.
